Jason and Andrea Soldini were married in 1994 and had their first child in 1996. They began homeschooling in 2001 with their oldest daughter. In 1999 they had another daughter and in 2008 they adopted a son. They are both involved in leadership at Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Homeschooling was not always what they had in mind but after hearing so much about it on Christian radio, Jason finally announced to Andrea that he thought they should homechool when it was time to start school. Andrea laughed and said she would pray about it. She meant she would pray for God to change Jason's mind but He had other plans. Instead, He changed her heart.

The Soldinis became involved in a local homeschool group where they found great support and fellowship. Over time they found many opportunities to encourage other homeschool families just starting out. With so many options and so many opinions about how best to administer homeschooling, many parents were confused and overwhelmed and often didn't know where to begin. Often parents would decide to try homeschooling for a number of good reasons, but without a biblical conviction as a foundation many would give up. The Soldinis found that there are solid biblical foundations to all aspects of homeschooling and developed a desire to help other homeschool families put these principles into practice.

The Soldinis developed a five week small group study and offered it through their church. It was very popular so the teaching was further developed into the book "Homeschooling by the Book".

HomeSchoolingByTheBook.com Mission Statement:

To provide a practical and spiritual resource for parents who have an interest in homeschooling and to connect these parents with other parents and relevant ministries with a Biblical worldview. In particular, to assist parents in understanding that God has given them the charge of teaching their children especially as it pertains to following, knowing and growing in Him.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe:

The Bible is the literal, infallible Word of God and is a resource for all of life’s issues.

People are born sinful and will be judged against the standard of God’s Righteousness.

Jesus Christ is the second person of the One triune God who came in the flesh, born of the virgin Mary, fully man yet fully God, lived a sinless life and suffered and died on the cross in our place to satisfy the perfect justice of God, thus taking our place in God’s judgment.

Jesus physically died, was resurrected after 3 days, then ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father and will return literally at the end of the age.

There is no way to God except through His provision for salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The Holy Spirit works alongside the non-believer bearing witness to truth, indwells the believer sealing him for salvation and fills or empowers the believer with supernatural ability to advance the gospel and the Kingdom of God.
